In “The Prayer Diet” by Matthew Anderson, he presents a series of statements to determine if a person has a food addiction. Such as, “Eating is most often the high point of my day” and “I am often preoccupied with thoughts of food” “I force myself to eat normally in public – such as limiting types or amounts of food when eating with others”….
He makes a good point to not hate ourselves over this but to pray. In food addiction, eating is out of control and the person is helpless and hopeless, just like with other addictions. The perfect time to call on God. Any time is good to call on God, but he is strong when we are weak.
I continue to pray the Dieter's Prayer 3 times a day+. Will be looking at the prayer for food addiction this weekend.
