1300 calorie Nutrisystem-like Diet Day 4
Menu and comparison to NutriSystem diet
This weight loss diet is similar to Nutrisystem diet in the following ways.
moderately high protein (20% of calories = 65 g pro for 1300 calories, 75 g pro for 1500 calories, 90 g pro for 1800 calories)
adequate fiber (18 to 20 grams for 1300 calories, 21 grams for 1500 calories, 25 grams for 1800 calories)
3 meals and 2 snacks per day to reach set calorie level
convenient, easy to prepare meals and snacks


1/2 cup protein pancake mix cooked in 1 tsp olive oil, 1 slice turkey bacon, 1/2 cup strawberries, 1/4 cup sugar free syrup = 350 calories, 20 g pro, 6 g fiber
Just measure out the pancake mix and add water to desired thickness - will be thick...Cook in 1 tsp olive oil in nonstick skillet..very easy to prepare - although not as easy as Nutrisystem's frozen ready to heat waffles


2 slices Little Caesar's cheese pizza, sliced cucumbers, 1 tbsp lite Ranch dressing = 356 calories, 16 g pro, 2.6 g fiber
Nutrisystem and Lean Cuisine have pepperoni pizza but they are higher in calories but have slightly more protein and fiber than the Little Caesar cheese pizza..
It is expected to add vegetables and salads to meals with Nutrisystem.
Nutrisystem is a prepared meal delivery system with different calorie plans for different individuals. Portion sizes are smaller but are higher in protein and fiber and it is recommended to add non starchy vegetables and salads to meals and snacks to help add some volume to these.
Nutrisystem is effective in producing weight loss as reported in several studies...see US News and World Report and check out some of the research studies listed there, such as this one from 2020 New England Journal of Medicine
Safe weight loss of 1 to 2 pounds per week is reported. Short term weight loss results but need to add other components to keep weight off. More on this last part later!!

Snacks today were Fiber One brownie = 70 calories, 2 g pro, 6 g fiber and 1/4 cup peanuts = 160 calories, 7 g pro, 2 g fiber
Total for day = 1296 calories, 68 g pro, 18.6 g fiber
